Material symbol of purity and subject of metaphysical meditation, wax, is also a source of inspiration for the artist. In Traces #1, the artist immerses old silver prints depicting spider webs in beeswax. In doing so, he proposes a reflection on a modified perception following the change in materiality of an object and its possible interpretations. Based on a studio accident, Traces #2 explores the plasticity of burnt wax through crater-like marks. These controlled accidents recall the experimental aspect of Decebal Scriba’s practice around matter.
